Who we are
Esspreso Productions operates this independent comics website. In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Esspreso Productions. We are responsible for the personal information we handle to operate the site and respond to messages.
You do not need an account to browse our content. To contact us about privacy or make a request about your information, use our contact form.
Information collected when you browse
Our hosting and technical service providers process information needed to deliver and protect the site, including your IP address, requested pages and files, request times, browser and device details, and referring page information where your browser supplies it. This information supports site delivery, troubleshooting, and protection against abuse.
The site saves your light or dark appearance preference in your browser using local storage under the key "theme." This preference is not an advertising identifier and remains until you change it or clear the site data in your browser.
Google and other advertising partners collect browsing, device, and advertising information through the technologies described below. We receive advertising reports, such as totals for ad impressions, clicks, and revenue.
Google AdSense and advertising partners
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements and support our original content. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google uses advertising cookies so that it and its partners can show you ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.
Google and other third-party advertising vendors and networks use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and similar identifiers to collect information directly from your browser. This can include the pages you visit, browser and device information, approximate location inferred from your IP address, and interactions with ads. They use this information to deliver and personalize ads, limit repeated ads, measure performance, and detect fraud and abuse, subject to your choices and applicable law.
Google explains its processing in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, its Privacy Policy, and its advertising information.
Other advertising vendors and networks participating in AdSense can also serve ads and set or read their own cookies on this site. Google's consent message identifies the ad partners covered by the message and provides links to their privacy information. You can review that list in the message's partner options. Google also provides information about its ad technology partners.
Advertising choices and consent
We use Google's consent management platform, available through AdSense Privacy & messaging, to present applicable privacy messages and record advertising choices. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we request consent for cookies or other local storage where legally required, and for the collection, sharing, and use of personal data to personalize ads.
Use "Manage options" in the consent message to review purposes and partners, give or refuse consent, and manage objections to processing based on legitimate interests where offered. To change your choices or withdraw consent later, select the "Privacy and cookie settings" link supplied by Google at the bottom of the site to reopen the message. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
You can also opt out of Google's personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. To opt out of personalized advertising from participating third-party vendors, visit the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page. These tools apply to participating providers and do not replace your consent choices on this site.
Refusing or withdrawing consent does not prevent you from reading our comics. Turning off personalization does not necessarily remove ads or stop all advertising-related processing. Non-personalized ads can still use cookies for purposes such as frequency capping, reporting, and fraud prevention, for which consent is still required where applicable. Depending on your choices and region, limited ads or no ads may be shown.
Cookies and browser controls
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. Local storage is another way for a website to remember information on your device. In addition to the appearance preference and advertising technologies described above, Google's consent platform stores choices and consent records so they can be remembered and communicated to advertising partners.
You can block or delete cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings. Clearing this site's data removes the saved appearance preference and can remove saved consent choices. Browser controls do not withdraw consent already recorded by a provider or delete information already received; use the consent controls or make a privacy request for those purposes.
Some choices are specific to a browser or device. Clearing cookies, switching browsers, or using a different device can require you to make your choices again. Google's privacy messages and links depend on your region.
Contact form
The contact form requires a message; your name and email address are optional. We receive the details you choose to submit and store them with a submission time, reference, and processing status. If you want a reply, include an email address. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or other sensitive personal information.
Messages are stored using Microsoft Azure and can be forwarded through our email notification service to a private inbox for review. We use them to read feedback, handle inquiries and privacy requests, and maintain related correspondence. We do not sell contact submissions, provide their contents to advertising partners, or use them for advertising or mailing lists.
Spam protection with Cloudflare Turnstile
When you press Send, the contact form loads Cloudflare Turnstile to check whether the submission is automated. Cloudflare processes information such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, and signals about the browser session for this security check. Turnstile is not loaded just by opening the Contact page.
Our server verifies the Turnstile token before accepting a message; we do not store that token with your submission. Cloudflare's processing is explained in its Privacy Policy and Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
How information is shared
We use service providers to host and secure the site, store messages, and deliver email notifications. These include Microsoft Azure and Cloudflare. For information about Microsoft's processing, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Google and advertising partners receive the advertising information described above and process it under their respective policies.
We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to respond to lawful requests, protect rights and safety, or investigate abuse. Contact messages are not published on the site.
Legal grounds for processing
Where European, UK, or similar data protection laws apply, we rely on consent for advertising cookies and personalized advertising where required. We rely on our legitimate interests in operating a secure website and handling correspondence for site delivery, troubleshooting, spam prevention, and ordinary contact inquiries, balanced against your rights. We also process information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, including applicable privacy requests.
Advertising partners explain their own legal grounds in their privacy notices and the consent message. Browsing the site or sending us a message does not by itself constitute consent to personalized advertising.
Retention, security, and international processing
We retain contact messages and related records for as long as needed to handle the inquiry, maintain relevant correspondence, address security concerns, and meet legal obligations. Retention depends on the nature of the message, whether the matter is ongoing, and any applicable legal requirements; there is no single fixed retention period for all messages. You can request deletion using the contact form.
Technical logs, advertising data, and consent records have retention periods determined by their purpose and the relevant provider. Advertising cookies have different lifetimes; details are available in the consent message and provider notices, including Google's information about cookies. Clearing browser storage does not itself delete information already held by us or a provider.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Our service providers operate internationally, so information can be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, international transfers are subject to safeguards such as adequacy decisions or approved contractual protections. The provider policies linked above explain their transfer arrangements.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access or obtain a copy of personal information, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, and receive information in a portable format. You can withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Certain US state laws provide rights to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or its use for targeted advertising. Although we do not sell contact messages, the use of advertising cookies and identifiers can constitute a "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising under these laws. Where applicable, use Google's "Do not sell or share my personal information" link on the site to open the US state privacy choices.
To exercise rights concerning information we hold, submit a request through the contact form, describe your request, and include a reply address. We may need information to verify your request and locate the relevant records. We respond within applicable legal time limits, explain any limits or refusal, and do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Where the law provides an appeal right, you can use the same form to appeal our decision. For information held independently by Google or another provider, use the privacy controls and contact details in that provider's policy.
Children
Our content is intended for a general audience, not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the contact form. Please do not submit personal details about a child.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please use the contact form so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
Other websites and policy changes
Links and advertisements can take you to websites operated by others. Their own privacy policies govern the information they collect; we do not control those websites.
We update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change and show the latest revision date above. Where required, we provide additional notice or request fresh consent before new processing begins. An update to this policy does not override your consent choices.
Questions about this policy or our handling of personal information can be sent to Esspreso Productions through our contact form.
